About the event
What is AA?
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a global fellowship of individuals who support each other in recovering from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. AA meetings are free, self-supporting, and open to anyone seeking help with their drinking problem.
AA operates on the principles of the Twelve Steps, offering a framework for personal recovery. Meetings are held worldwide, with over 18,000 members in Australia attending more than 2,000 local meetings. AA is non-professional and not affiliated with any religious, political, or social organisations.
Members share their experiences and support each other in maintaining sobriety.
While AA welcomes anyone to open meetings, only those with a drinking problem may attend closed meetings or become members. AA’s primary purpose is to help alcoholics achieve and maintain sobriety, and it does not offer other services such as medical treatment, housing, or vocational counseling.
For more information or to join our classes in Nimbin, please feel free to attend a meeting or reach out to us directly.
