We are feeling very proud to share that Diana Roberts’ beautiful submission for the Landcare Through the Lens campaign has been featured on Landcare Australia’s Facebook page.

Diana’s words captured something so many of us feel about Aquarius Park and the people who care for it:

“To me, landcare means community, regeneration and hope – proving small village groups can create inspiring spaces reconnecting people with nature. Come rain or shine, Aquarius Park Landcare volunteers have gathered monthly for almost two years, building friendships through a shared love of the environment.”

What a beautiful reflection of the work happening right here in Nimbin.

For almost two years, the Aquarius Park Landcare volunteers have been turning up each month, rain or shine, to care for the land and restore the space It is quiet, steady, hands-in-the-soil community work and now it has been shared with a national audience.

Diana’s submission reminds us that Landcare is not only about planting, weeding and regeneration. It is also about building friendships through a shared love of the environment.

Congratulations to Diana Roberts and a heartfelt thank you to the Aquarius Park Landcare volunteers for the care, time and love you continue to give to this special place.

Small village groups really can create inspiring spaces and Aquarius Park is proof of that.
